Walk & Roll: Sponsorship & Community Outreach Lead
The Sponsorship & Community Outreach Lead helps bring local businesses and community partners into the Walk & Roll—both to support fundraising and to expand event visibility. This role focuses on building relationships: inviting local companies to sponsor, asking for in-kind donations (food, drinks, raffle items, printing, etc.), and tapping into community groups that can help promote the event or participate.
Key responsibilities include identifying potential sponsors, making outreach (email, calls, or in-person asks), and keeping relationships warm with clear follow-up and gratitude. This lead also works with FSHD Society staff to ensure sponsors are recognized appropriately—before, during, and after the event. Community outreach can include connecting with schools, gyms, faith communities, local sports teams, service clubs, and neighborhood groups to help spread the word. If you’re comfortable asking, networking, or building partnerships—and you like the “let’s bring more people into this” energy—this role makes a huge impact.
